Before we understand the purpose of the fuel pressure gauge, we first need to understand the importance of the fuel system to nourish your high performance engine. First, after investing a significant amount of time and money into a high performance engine, you need to feed it properly, using diesel fuel.
Getting the fuel effectively from the gas tank to the engine is the main purpose of the automobile’s fuel system. Simply put, the fuel pump pumps the fuel out of the gas tank and helps it quickly travel to the engine though the fuel filter, fuel lines, and the fuel rail. The gasoline from the tank will be mixed with filtered air at a specified ratio, before being sprayed as a mist into the engines cylinders. The excess fuel is then returned back into the tank by the fuel return line. The pressure gauge, sometimes referred to as tester, and pressure regulator are usually installed in the fuel rail, or inside the fuel tank near the fuel pump. The fuel pressure gauge is attached to the pressure regulator.
